Black sapote, also known as chocolate pudding fruit or chocolate persimmon, is a tropical fruit with a distinctive flavor and texture. Ripe fruits are dark brown to black in color, soft, and have a sweet, mild taste, often described as resembling chocolate pudding or a custard. The flesh is rich and creamy, with a hint of sweetness and notes of caramel and molasses. The fruit is generally 5-10 cm in diameter and contains a few seeds.
