Agarwood saplings (Aquilaria spp.) are fast-growing, evergreen plants with slender, straight stems and light green leaves. Thriving in humid, subtropical climates (20-33°C), they prefer well-drained, acidic soil and require significant shade when young. These aromatic, valuable, and upright saplings mature in 8-15 years, eventually producing prized resin. Also known as oud, gaharu, or the wood of the gods, it is world-renowned for its extremely fragrant, dark, resinous heartwood, which is highly prized for incense, perfumes, and traditional medicine.
