Matka Silk: A unique blend where the warp is usually fine silk and the weft is Matka silk—a thick, hand-spun yarn made from pierced cocoons, giving it a distinctive, non-uniform appearance.

100% Natural Silk: Composed entirely of silk proteins. It uses the waste silk from mulberry cocoons, making it a sustainable and traditional upcycled luxury. 

Hand-Spun Texture: The yarn is spun by hand, resulting in a fabric that looks like tweed or linen but possesses the unmistakable soul and weight of silk.
Bengal Craftsmanship: Often features hand-painted motifs, buttis, or contrasting borders that highlight the fabrics raw, organic beauty. 

Robust & Heavy-Duty: Matka silk is much thicker and sturdier than fine mulberry silk. It is highly resistant to tears and can last for decades with proper care. 

Temperature Regulation: Because of its slightly open, hand-woven pores, it is surprisingly airy and comfortable, making it suitable for year-round wear in the Indian climate. 

Granular & Earthy: It has a rough, slubby texture that feels substantial to the touch. It is less slippery than standard silk, offering a firm and elegant drape.

Dry Clean Recommended: To maintain the structural integrity of the hand-spun yarns and prevent shrinkage.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place wrapped in soft paper or muslin to protect the natural fibres from moisture.
Ironing: Use a medium-heat setting (silk mode) while the saree is slightly damp, or use a press cloth to avoid direct heat damage.
