Description :
Dhokra (or Dokra) art is an ancient, traditional Indian metal-casting craft using the lost-wax technique (cire perdue), creating unique brass and bronze figurines, deities, and decorative items with a rustic, timeless appeal, rooted in tribal folklore and nature, popular in regions like West Bengal, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. Artisans first create a wax model, cover it in clay, melt out the wax, and pour molten metal into the cavity, resulting in intricate, mold-free pieces representing tribal life, animals, and mythological figures. It is a non-ferrous metal casting method, a process existing for over 4,000 years, seen in artifacts from Mohenjo-Daro. Location : Odisha, India
