The Sirohi, widely known as the Ajmeri goat, is a robust dual-purpose breed originating from the Aravalli hills of Rajasthan. These goats are easily identified by their compact, muscular frames and distinctive brown coats adorned with irregular dark patches and leaf-like drooping ears. Renowned for their extreme climate resilience, they are exceptionally well-suited for intensive stall-feeding or grazing. While they are a premier choice for high-quality meat production, they also serve as reliable milk producers, yielding up to 2.5 litres daily. Their rapid growth rates and strong resistance to disease make them one of the most popular breeds for sustainable livestock farming today.
