India: Specifically Nagaland. These are authentic tribal products, often traded and curated in the handloom hubs of West Bengal and Assam.

Cotton-Acrylic Blend or Pure Wool: Traditionally woven with local cotton or sheep wool. Modern versions often use a high-quality acrylic blend for a lightweight feel that mimics the warmth of wool without the itchiness. 

Coarse-Spun Yarn: The yarns are typically thicker and hand-spun, giving the muffler a substantial, heavy-duty feel compared to factory-made accessories. 

Loin Loom / Backstrap Loom: Most authentic Naga mufflers are woven on a traditional Backstrap Loom, where the weaver uses their own body weight to create tension, resulting in a very tight, distinctive weave.
Bold Tribal Patterns: Features the iconic red, black, and white colour palette associated with various Naga tribes (such as the Ao, Angami, or Lotha). 

Exceptional Resilience: Because of the tight backstrap weaving technique, these mufflers are incredibly sturdy and resistant to pilling or fraying.
Heavy-Duty: Designed to withstand the rugged mountain climates of the Northeast. 

Insulating yet Porous: The natural fibre content provides excellent insulation against the cold while the hand-woven structure allows for enough air circulation to prevent overheating. 

Ribbed & Rugged: It has a noticeable ribbed or ridged texture from the heavy weft yarns. It feels firm, structured, and earthy rather than silky or smooth.

The Warriors Identity: Every stripe and colour has meaning. Red traditionally symbolizes bravery and blood, while black represents strength. Historically, specific patterns were earned based on a persons status or achievements in the community.
Symbol of Pride: Wearing a Naga muffler is a statement of respect for the tribal heritage and the fierce, independent spirit of the Naga people. 

Hand Wash Only: Use cold water and a very mild detergent. Do not wring; the tight weave can be distorted if twisted too hard.
Flat Dry: Lay it flat on a towel in the shade. Hanging it while wet may cause the heavy hand-spun fibres to stretch.
Avoid Friction: To keep the colours vibrant and the texture crisp, avoid wearing it against rough Velcro or sharp jewellery that might snag the hand-woven loops.
