India: Authentic sets are hand-crafted in Nagaland, often found in high-end ethnic boutiques in surrounding regions. 

Heavy-Duty Cotton or Acrylic Blend: Woven using thick, durable yarns to withstand the active nature of children while maintaining the stiff, structured look of traditional tribal wear. 

Eco-Friendly Natural Fibres: Traditionally made from locally sourced cotton and natural dyes, though modern versions for children often use skin-friendly, non-itchy synthetic blends for easier maintenance. 

Loin Loom Craftsmanship: Each piece (mini-shawls, waistbands, or kilts) is hand-woven on a traditional backstrap loom, ensuring no two sets are identical.
Tribal Motifs: Features specific geometric patterns, stripes, and stylized animal motifs (like the hornbill or mithun) that represent different tribes such as the Ao, Angami, or Sumi. 

High Tensile Strength: The weave is intentionally tight and dense, making the attire extremely resistant to tearing, pilling, or losing its shape even after multiple wears. 

Thermoregulating: The thick weave provides excellent insulation during the cool hilly winters, yet the natural cotton base remains breathable enough for festive events in warmer climates.

Bold & Ribbed: The attire has a distinctively rugged, tactile feel. It is firm and crunchy rather than soft, which helps the traditional silhouette (like the stiff mini-shawl) stay in place on a child.

Rites of Passage: Wearing the traditional attire is a childs first step in identifying with their Khel (village unit) and tribe.
Symbolism of Colours: The dominance of Red (courage), Black (power), and White (purity) serves as a visual lesson in the history and values of the Naga warriors. 

Gentle Hand Wash: Wash separately in cold water as natural dyes (especially red) may bleed initially.
Dry Flat: Never hang these pieces when wet; lay them flat in the shade to preserve the heavy, hand-woven structure and prevent stretching.
Storage: Store in a dry place with silica gel or neem leaves to protect the natural fibres from humidity and insects.
