Eri Silk (often called the King of Silks for menswear). It features a sophisticated matte finish and a dense, textured weave that provides the structural body required for high-quality tailored waistcoats.

Handcrafted in the Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam, India, this piece emerges from the lush, indigenous landscapes of Northeast India. As a product protected by Geographical Indication (GI) status, it represents an authentic heritage craft, preserved through generations by the skilled hands of Bodo artisans.

100% Hand-spun Eri Silk. The material is derived from the Samia ricini moth. Its fibres are naturally thicker and more resilient than Mulberry silk, giving the waistcoat a luxurious, wool-linen hybrid feel.

Ahimsa (Non-Violent) Silk: Produced without killing the silkworm, making it a favourite for ethically-conscious fashion.
Structured Drape: Its natural thickness allows the waistcoat to hold its shape perfectly over a shirt or Kurta.
Hypoallergenic: The organic nature of the fibre makes it comfortable for all-day wear against the skin. 

Handloom Weaving: Woven on traditional Bodo throw-shuttle looms, creating a rich, rustic texture.
Extra-Weft Motifs: Often features traditional Bodo Agor (geometric patterns) meticulously hand-woven into the fabric rather than printed.
Tailored Finish: Combines ancient tribal weaving with modern silhouettes to create a contemporary ethnic look. 

The Bodo Tribe. As the master weavers of the Assam plains, Bodo artisans are renowned for their precision in handling Eri silk, a craft that is central to their communitys identity.

In Bodo tradition, Eri garments are symbols of dignity and high social standing. A waistcoat made of Eri silk is typically worn during formal ceremonies, festivals (like Bihu or Bwisagu), and weddings, representing a deep respect for ancestral craftsmanship and sustainable living.

Eri silk is the most durable of all Indian silks. It is highly resistant to pilling and abrasion, ensuring the waistcoat maintains its crisp, professional appearance for years. It is often referred to as the silk that lasts a lifetime.

The fabric is naturally isothermal, meaning it regulates body temperature by allowing air to circulate. It prevents overheating in summer while providing a layer of natural insulation during cooler months.

Washing: Dry clean is recommended for waistcoats to maintain the tailored structure; otherwise, very gentle hand wash in cold water.
Detergent: Use only mild, pH-neutral silk detergents; avoid bleach.
Drying: Never wring. Lay flat on a towel in the shade to dry.
Ironing: Use a medium Silk setting with steam or while the fabric is slightly damp.
Storage: Hang on a padded hanger in a cool, dry place or store in a breathable muslin garment bag.
