Eri Silk (The Fabric of Peace). This dress features a unique matte finish and a substantial, textured hand-feel that mimics the elegance of raw linen but with the luxurious weight and drape of silk. It is entirely opaque and develops a beautiful, soft luster over time.

Handcrafted in the Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam, India, this garment is a heritage treasure born from the unique subtropical landscapes of Northeast India. Protected by Geographical Indication (GI) status, it serves as a certified hallmark of authenticity, honouring the ancestral weaving traditions preserved by the Bodo community.

100% Organic Eri Silk. The material is sourced from the Samia ricini moth. It is a protein-based, natural fibre that is spun rather than reeled, giving the dress its characteristic rustic elegance and durable structure.

Ahimsa (Cruelty-Free): The silk is harvested only after the moth has naturally flown away from the cocoon, making it a staple of ethical and non-violent fashion.
Isothermal Properties: Naturally regulates body temperature, keeping you comfortably cool in the summer and warm during cooler evenings.
Eco-Conscious: Produced using traditional, low-impact methods that support a sustainable lifestyle and a circular economy. 

Hand-Spun & Hand-Woven: The yarn is hand-spun on a Takli (spindle) and woven on traditional Bodo handlooms, ensuring every dress has a one-of-a-kind texture.
Extra-Weft Artistry: Often incorporates intricate Agor (geometric motifs) hand-woven into the fabric, showcasing the precision of tribal artistry.

The Bodo Tribe. Known as the master weavers of Assam, Bodo women have preserved the intricate art of Eri silk production for centuries, integrating their cultural soul into every thread.

In Bodo culture, Eri silk is a symbol of purity and resilience. Historically used for sacred wraps and gifted as a mark of high esteem, an Eri silk dress represents a connection to the earth and the indigenous spirit of the Bodo people. It is a celebration of slow fashion that honours the artisans labour.

Eri silk is the most resilient of all natural silks. The dress is highly resistant to wear and tear, maintaining its structural integrity even with frequent use. Unlike other delicate silks, it does not easily fray or thin, making it a long-lasting staple for any wardrobe.

The fabrics porous nature allows for exceptional air circulation. It effectively wicks moisture and breathes with the skin, ensuring the wearer remains dry and comfortable throughout the day, regardless of the humidity.

Washing: Gentle hand wash in cold water using a mild, pH-neutral liquid detergent; do not soak.
Drying: Do not wring or twist. Roll in a clean towel to remove moisture and line dry in the shade.
Ironing: Iron on the reverse side using a medium Silk setting while the fabric is slightly damp for a smooth finish.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place inside a breathable cotton or muslin bag to protect the natural fibres.
