Protected by Geographical Indication (GI) status, it serves as a certified hallmark of excellence, honouring the indigenous landscapes and ancestral weaving traditions preserved by the Bodo community.

100% Natural Eri Silk. Sourced from the Samia ricini moth, this is a spun silk fibre. It is naturally ivory or ahimsa cream in colour, though it can be dyed using organic plant-based extracts.

Ahimsa (Cruelty-Free) Silk: The cocoons are harvested only after the moth has naturally emerged and flown away, making it a favourite for ethical fashion enthusiasts.
Isothermal Nature: It possesses a natural ability to regulate temperature, providing warmth in the winter and staying remarkably cool during the summer.
Hypoallergenic: The fibre is incredibly gentle on the skin and naturally resistant to dust mites and mold.

Eri silk is the most rugged and durable of all silk varieties. It does not easily tear or lose its shape, and unlike other silks, it actually becomes softer and more comfortable with age, ensuring the waistcoat remains a wardrobe staple for years.

The spun nature of the fibres creates a porous weave that allows the skin to breathe. It effectively wicks away moisture, making it comfortable for all-day wear, even in humid environments.

Washing: Gentle hand wash in cold water or professional dry clean to maintain the waistcoats tailored structure.
Detergent: Use only mild, pH-neutral silk or wool detergents; avoid any products containing bleach.
Drying: Do not wring or tumble dry. Roll in a dry towel to remove excess water and line dry in a shaded area.
Ironing: Use a medium Silk setting, preferably while the fabric is slightly damp, and always iron on the reverse side.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. It is best kept in a breathable muslin bag with natural repellents like dried neem leaves.
